World Engineering day seems like the perfect opportunity for us to start shouting about the new funded PhD opportunities we currently have out for advertisement. There are 6 in total:
- SureShot Biomechanics: Elevating Shooting Sports Performance through Advanced Analysis and Simulation
- Validation and utility of wearable sensors to assess locomotion in early childhood.
- The use of technology to support care pathways for joint replacement surgery.
- Development of automated whole-body shape analysis techniques.
- Decoding the DNA of short points in elite tennis
- Machine Learning approaches to derive race analysis metrics from competition footage [British Swimming)
More information about each of these can be found here on the SHU website, searching Sport & Physical Activity Research Centre in the Department field. Over the forthcoming weeks we will be shining a light on each, in turn, to bring you some extra insight into our work and what we are looking for in a candidate for each opportunity.
